Several PPRTA capital projects, including Milton E. Proby Parkway Phase 1, have been temporarily suspended until a private management consultant is hired for the remaining City/PPRTA Capital projects.  It is estimated that this will result in a delay in the project schedules.  The delay is temporary and City Engineering still intends to proceed with these projects. Temporary Project Suspension Press Release

Milton E. Proby Parkway is of Vital Importance

The Milton E. Proby Parkway is one of the most significant roadway projects in Colorado Springs. This project will help to solve a missing link in the transportation system of southern Colorado Springs that is designed to be flexible with the amount of traffic and growth this area of the City experiences over the next 30 years. The Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (PPRTA), which is providing the funding, has ranked this project with an "A-list" rating, meaning it is of vital importance and among the highest priority projects around the City.

The PPRTA is bound by the taxpayers' wish to complete all "A-List" projects before moving to the "B-List." The City of Colorado Springs in conjunction with the PPRTA has contracted with URS Corporation to help bring this project to reality. In the coming months you will see a lot of progress in the design, the landscape and aesthetics elements as well as the public outreach with information and opportunities to offer input. We ask that you take the opportunity to tell us how we can make Milton E. Proby Parkway a welcome neighbor and a useful facility for you to use.
