Milton E. Proby Weekly Construction Update

Anticipated Construction Activities for September 3, 2010- September 10, 2010

  • Ames Construction Inc. will observe the Labor Day Holiday, Monday, September 6, 2010.  No Work will occur during this time.
  • Soundwall installation is complete, staining of the panels has begun.
  • Construction of the FMIC siphon box has begun.  This system will allow irrigation water to continue uninterupted after the relocation of Academy Boulevard.
  • Construction of Pier 3 for the Ramp C Bridge will begin next Wednesday and continue Thursday and Friday.
  • Fill for soffit to construct the east end of Ramp C Bridge between piers 5 and 6 and abutment 7 will continue.
  • Sub-grade finish work will continue on Proby, at the east end of Hancock.
  • Form work and the pouring of piers 2, 4, 5 & 6 for the Ramp C Bridge is now complete.
  • The sidewalk at the southwest corner of Drennan and Academy remains closed until further notice.
  • Sidewalk access in the area of the old north sound wall remains closed.
  • Storm-drainage work continues.
  • We are continuing to pour concrete on drainage structures. 
  • Utility relocations are ongoing.

 

 

 

The existing Milton E Proby Parkway from Powers Boulevard to Hancock Expressway closed to all traffic in June.  Motorists should use the Hancock Expressway Detour posted under the closure tab or click here. Watch for detour signage and reduced speeds in the area.  This area will remain closed through October of 2010.

  • Via Tierra And Charro Drive Access:

Residents needing access to the area should use the Yucatan Drive Detour posted under the closures tab or click here.  

  • Ramp C Flyover Bridge Foundations

Construction of the Ramp C flyover bridge foundations is underway.  The mass earthwork on the corner of S. Academy and Drennan Road will facilitate this work.
